MSDGI advocacy, sensitization visit to Benin Central Mosque on the Effect of VAPP Law on GBV

  By Ehis Agugu In continuance of the campaign for a more socially inclusive society where all are given equal opportunity to attain their highest potential, the Edo State Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues (MSDGI) paid on Friday, March 18, 2022, advocacy and sensitization visit to the Benin Central Mosque.  Speaking to the congregation just after they observed a revered moment of prayer and fellowship, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Barbara N. WANEP pays advocacy visit to Edo-MSDGI

By Ehis Agugu As part of an effort to seek collaboration with the Edo State Government for the effective implementation of the Nigeria National Action Plan (NNAP) on the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325, the West Africa Network for Peace Building (WANEP - Nigeria) paid an advocacy visit to the Edo State Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues (MSDGI) on March 11, 2022, to brainstorm on the establishment of the State Action Plan (SAP). WANEP Edo State Coordinator, Barr. Agatha Osieke in her address disclosed that the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 is dedicated entirely to the link that exists between armed conflicts, peace-building and the gender dimension and builds on the convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women.
