EDO 2024: APC'S FUTILE EFFORT AT SUSTAINING AN EXPIRED STATUS QUO
History is replete with how lazy minds are petrified by Change; because Change challenges and pulls down their economic kingdoms built on lies, deceptions and shenanigans. And, in most cases, beyond the economic loss, they are also stripped of their vain egos and larger than life pride.
We cannot fail to notice historical examples like the martyrdom of Stephen in the Bible. Stephen revolutionary preaching of the expiration of Judaism and its old Temple in Jerusalem, and his affirmation that Jesus is the Son of God was fatally offensive to the religious and political status quo of his day.
The Pharisees, Sadducees, Scribes Rulers, Elders and Levites of Isreal hitherto exploited the people and exacted on them. It was at once their economic base and also their context for supremacy over the people.
Now all that has been under threat since Jesus Christ appeared with Salvation by faith in him. The religious leaders had already lost thousands of followers and many more thousands were listening to the Apostles.
It was time to act! They descended on the Church with great persecution and killed Stephen unjustly!
Is it not easy to see that this is the exact debacle of APC today? Governor Obaseki's revolutionary governance goes against the grain of APC status quo and so they cannot bear to see him.
They search their black book for all kinds of negative propaganda to pull him down, if they could!
When you observe the calibre of APC members that jump to the street, whenever they think it's an opportunity to pull the Governor down, you will notice they were the unholy beneficiaries of the eroded status quo: who got paid for brigandage and for being political oppressors.
But nothing can stop an idea whose time has come. This is the time for progressive ideas, for development and for Edo's emancipation. It was started by Governor Obaseki, it will be continued by Dr Asue Ighodalo in Jesus name. Amen!
