BOWFT 2022: Royal Queens planks RoyalToms 2 - 0, advanced into quarter-finals

 By Ehis Agugu The Royal Queens of Warri were dominant almost throughout, not much willing to part ways with the ball as they planked RoyalToms of Lagos 2 - 0.  The win advanced Royal Queens into the quarter-finals of the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament (BOWFT). An opportunistic strike from Ola Olaronke in the first-half and a late penalty goal from Alexandra Isaac effectively settled the issue in favour of Royal Queens FC. The annual Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament (BOWFT), now in its second edition, kicked off on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 and will run through Saturday, September 17, 2022, with the aim to drive the government’s campaign against drug abuse. 

NOCSON Congratulates Austin Osakue On His Emergence As President, African Forum For Advocacy And Citizen Engagement

 The Network of Civil Society Organizations of Nigeria (NOCSON), Edo State, has congratulated Comrade Austin Osakue as he emerged President, African Forum For Advocacy And Citizen Engagement in Kingali, Rwanda. Comrade Osakue who emerged the first Nigeria to be elected as President of the Forum defeated four other contestants from Ghana, Kenya, Morocco and Malawi. In a congratulatory message issued and signed by Comrade Ogbidi Emmanuel and Comrade Bevy Efe, President and Director of Media and Publicity of NOCSON respectively, said the Movement saw this long ago as a result of his uncommon impart in the Civil Society community in Edo State and Nigeria, and nicked named him  ‘Living Legend’ of the Civil Movement.
