Obaseki approves policy on aging to cater for elderly persons in Edo

 The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has approved the Edo State Policy on Aging to provide social care and protection for senior citizens in the state. The Edo State Commissioner for Orientation and Communication, Andrew Emwanta, who disclosed this to journalists in Benin City, said the policy is part of efforts by the government to uphold the rights and dignity of senior citizens. He said the Governor approved the new policy at the weekly Executive Council (EXCO) meeting, at the Government House, Benin City.  He said, “The Executive Council has approved the Edo State Policy on Aging which will provide social care and protection for senior citizens. MSDGI Clears Air On Young Pastor's Pre-wedding Photos Causing Stir Online

 By Ehis Agugu The controversial viral pre-wedding photo of a young pastor and his fiancée preparing to wed in Benin City has proved to be an old picture, investigation has revealed. The viral photo, which has attracted mixed reactions among social media users, saw many of them criticizing the planned wedding, alleging that the Pastor and his fiancée are both underage. But a visit by Edo State Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues (MSDGI) last week revealed the photos are old ones.
