Obaseki disclosed this while briefing journalists after the State Security Council meeting held at the Government House, in Benin City, the Edo State capital. The governor, who assured Edo people of adequate security during the election, urged voters to come out en masse to cast their ballots for their preferred candidates. He noted that the State will be very peaceful as all security agencies are on ground to protect the electorates. Edo govt debunks fraudulent subsidy palliative portal

 The Edo State Government has cautioned members of the public to disregard antics by fraudsters who are operating a portal to obtain details of unsuspecting members of the public to perpetrate a scam scheme. The Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, in a statement, discredited the scheme. According to him: “The attention of the Edo State Government has been drawn to a link to a portal which is being used to obtain details of unsuspecting members of the public to defraud. “The link is being circulated on WhatsApp messaging platform and is intended to scam unsuspecting persons. “The public is cautioned to be vigilant and disregard the link, as it is the handiwork of fraudsters who are out to hoodwink and defraud innocent people. Please kindly disregard the link.”

Nobody trends forever...  6-years ago KCee was performing in Benin with other Artists, Rema tried to link up with some in the backstage and they all snubbed him but KCee gave him a chance, told the guards not to stop Rema.  He spoke to Rema and encouraged him. He told Rema that he believes in him and today, Rema is one of the biggest artist globally.   Few days ago, Rema took KCee on a tour with him just to appreciate what he did for him back then.  A public affairs analyst, Mr. Odeh Ekpoma has called on the Governor of Edo state, Mr. Godwin Obaseki to demand the resignation of all political office holders who have gubernatorial ambition in the forthcoming election in the state in 2024. In a press statement released in Abuja and  dated August 7th 2023, Mr. Ekpoma said the business of the state is too serious for opportunist appointees to start toying with in their quest to occupy the governor's office. This is as leaders of Edo North Senatorial District, the senatorial zone of the Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, distanced themselves from his governorship ambition, warning the deputy governor against fueling the crisis in the State.
