Edo Trains Operators of Herbal Homes

 By Eghosa Emily The Edo State Government through the Ministry of Social Development and Humanitarian Affairs has organized training for operators of Herbal Homes in the State to enable them render better services to patients in their facilities. The training which took place in the conference room of the ministry was attended by over 12 herbal homeowners across the State. Welcoming the Directors of the herbal homes, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs Ifueko Alufohai, represented by the Director of Rehabilitation Services, Mr Sylvester Okeguale, commended them for their commitment and uprightness.  He prayed for the continuous success and growth of their homes while revealing that there would be better packages for herbal homeowners going forward.  He stressed on the need for the various Herbal Home Directors to train and mentor capable hands who would take over from them in the future. BREAKING: ASUU Suspends 8-Month-Old Strike Conditionally

  The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) has suspended its eight-month-old industrial action conditionally, a member of the union’s National Executive Committee told Channels TV early Friday. The union decided to suspend the strike during a meeting of its leadership that started on Thursday night and lasted into the early hours of Friday. The meeting was called by the union to determine its next line of action after its state branches met over the Court of Appeal ruling last week. The Court of Appeal had ordered ASUU to suspend the strike before its appeal of the ruling ordering lecturers to resume work can be heard. Members of the union’s National Executive Committee, which comprises the chairmen of the state chapters and members of the national executive, attended the meeting at the ASUU National Secretariat in Abuja. Social Dev. staff bid farewell to Permanent Secretary

 By Ehis Agugu Management and staff of the Edo State Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues now Ministry of Social Development and Humanitarian Affairs have bid farewell to the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Barbara Nekpen Osobajo, who was recently transferred to Transformation Office, Office of the Head of Service, Government House. At the emotional farewell event, on Friday, organized by the Ministry's welfare committee, staff showered encomium on Mrs. Osobajo and praised her as an exemplary, diligent, meticulous, engaging, strategic and classic problem solver. The management and staff of the Ministry eulogised the Permanent Secretary for bringing her expansive experience in the private sector to bear on the civil service, just as they prayed to God Almighty to grant her wisdom and strength to discharge the duties of her new office with diligence, compassion, and generosity.
